OZZIE BEARS 2008-09 SQUIRT TEAM OVERVIEW · All Players born in 1998 or later are eligible.· The coaches and core group of kids are graduates of the 2007-08 Ozzie Bears Mite A travel team.· The Coaches are Zac Fryer, Matt Lundgren and Bob Juby. Bob Halt is the Team Manager.· The Try Out Schedule is as follows:o Saturday, April 12 10:00-11:15 – Ozzie Iceo Sunday, April 13 10:00-11:15 – Ozzie Iceo Saturday, April 19 4:00 – 5:30pm – All Tel Ice Deno Total Cost for Tryouts is $40 – due on April 12· The team roster will be finalized by April 30 and a $300 non-refundable deposit will be required at that time.· Practices begin mid-August.· We will play in the Sonoran Youth Hockey League – the season runs from Mid-October through the end of April· We will play in 5-6 tournaments. The first tournament will be Labor Day Weekend.· 1-2 tournaments will be out of town – most likely MLK and Presidents Day weekends.· We have commitments for full ice for practices throughout the season. We will also practice at Ozzie Ice.· We fully support Ozzie Ice and their programs including the 3x3 leagues. Although only the Fall 3on3 season is requiired, we strongly encourage our families to take advantage of the excellent instruction that is available at this top flight hockey training facility.· The cost per player will be approximately $2,000 for the Season. This includes league fees, practice ice time, tournament entry fees, etc.· The per player cost can be defrayed through Team Fundraising. Families who participate in fundraising can expect to reduce the per player cost by $500 - $1,000.· Our goal is to put together a competitive team and create an environment where the kids can improve their skills, work together as a team, develop friendships and enjoy the hockey experience. |
